Looking for your new hangout? A new go-to coffee shop? I know, I know people sing the praises of Coffee By Design, but I think there is something to be said for trying something new (and better). Tommy Yordprom has been in business on 722 Congress Street for a little over a year now, and I can really see business picking up! Marko and I stopped in for a quick pastry and a latte on Saturday. Quick soon turned into enjoying an hour there, petting the fluffy shop dog, reading The Bollard and Phoenix, and just enjoying the fresh energy that comes from drinking coffee amongst orange walls.
We were greeted upon entering by Tommy, who is always the head baristo. He uses the most amazing coffee, a Thai brand called Doi Chaang. He expertly brews a single cup at a time and gives the foam on every latte a flourish at end, it’s a quick, but personal touch.
Pastries are delivered daily from a bakery in the area. The blueberry muffin was perfectly moist with tons of blueberries. Marko had the raspberry and cheese danish and it was perfect. I had been craving a cheese danish for almost two weeks and now it’s the one I’ll measure all others against!
Don’t hang on the fence waiting for a better time to go–go now! Tommy is running a creative startup that isn’t just about coffee. It’s about service, ambiance, and quality products and ingredients. Yordprom is a must if you love your coffee strong and your pastries fresh.
